How to extract pages from a PDF

For sensitive documents, check your organisation’s rules and our Privacy Policy before uploading.

  1. Choose your PDF

Select a file from your device using the upload area above.

  2. Select the pages

Type the numbers of the pages you want to keep, such as 2-4,6.

  3. Extract your selection

Review your selection and start extraction.

  4. Download your PDF

Save the new file to your device.

Choose pages for your new PDF

In this example, source pages 2–4 and 6 become a four-page PDF. Both diagrams explain selection; they are not recorded Convertok results.

Check the page, not just its number

A cover page and a contents page come first in this example, so printed page 1 is the third page in the source PDF. Check the page heading before selecting it.

When taking a whole section, include any notes or tables that continue onto the next page.

Check your PDF before sharing

Open the downloaded file and review the pages you kept.

Extracting pages does not hide information within them. Check the retained text, annotations and form fields for anything you did not intend to share.

  • Pages and order Confirm the page count, selection and reading order.
  • Readable content Check small text, images, tables and page edges.
  • If your PDF has links or forms Test any links and fields you need.
  • If your PDF is digitally signed Keep the signed original and check the new file’s signature status in a PDF reader.

Questions about extracting PDF pages

Can I extract a single page from a PDF?

Yes. Select one page to save it as a separate PDF.

What file type and size can I use?

Choose a PDF file up to 100 MB. If your file is larger, reduce its size or prepare a smaller source PDF before uploading.

Will fewer pages mean a smaller file?

The file may be smaller, but not in proportion to the number of pages removed. Images, fonts and shared document resources affect the size. Check the downloaded file if you need to meet an attachment limit.

Will links, bookmarks and fillable fields still work?

Bookmarks are not copied to the new file. Links to pages you keep still work, links to omitted pages stop working, and web links stay. Form fields on the pages you keep stay fillable. Check them in the downloaded PDF before relying on them.

What if my PDF is password-protected or will not open?

Open the source in a PDF reader first. If it is protected, obtain an unrestricted copy from the document owner. If extraction still fails, email [email protected] with the file size, your browser and the error message. You can report those details without sending the document.

Does extracting scanned pages make the text searchable?

Extracting whole pages and recognising text are different operations. A new PDF of scanned pages does not by itself mean that the words can be searched or copied. Check the downloaded pages if searchable text matters.

Is the tool free, and do I need an account?

Yes, the tool is free and no sign-up is required.
