How to resize an image
Check the upload requirements first: width and height in pixels, accepted format and any limit in KB or MB.

Choose your image
Add one JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP file, up to 100 MB. For a photo, start with the original rather than a screenshot.

Set width or height
Enter Width or Height in whole pixels and leave the other field empty to keep proportions. If you need both dimensions, check that their width-to-height ratio matches the original.

Resize and save
Click Resize image and download the file. Check the saved dimensions and file size against the upload requirements.

We entered 3000 in Width and left Height empty. Convertok resized this JPG from 6000 × 4000 px to 3000 × 2000 px, preserving the full 3:2 frame.
The images show the uploaded JPG and the downloaded result. Use the same approach when a website specifies a width and lets the height vary.
Need a square image?
A 3:2 photo cannot fill a square without cropping, adding space or changing its proportions. For a square avatar, crop first in an editor. For a product photo that must show the whole item, add space around it instead, then resize.
Pixels ≠ file size
Set the dimensions.
Check the file size.
An image can meet a form’s width and height rules and still exceed its file-size limit. Format, image content and encoding all affect the downloaded file’s KB or MB.
Half the width and half the height means a quarter of the pixels. It does not mean a quarter of the file size.
If an upload form sets both limits, meet the pixel dimensions first and then check KB or MB. Compress the result if needed, keeping any required minimum dimensions. If your PNG still exceeds the upload limit, use Compress PNG, then check the saved file’s size and clarity.
Before you use the file
Check more than the thumbnail
Keep the original so you can make another version. Reducing dimensions discards pixels; enlarging the smaller copy cannot restore the original detail.

Dimensions and shape
Check width and height in the saved file’s properties. Faces and round objects should keep their shape. If they look stretched, return to the original and leave one dimension empty.

Text and small details
Inspect small lettering and thin lines at the size the image will be displayed. If they disappear, return to the original and try a larger output that still meets the upload rules.

The upload preview
Preview the image where it will appear: a profile circle or product tile may crop the edges. Make sure faces, lettering and the whole product stay inside the visible area.
Is the image resizer free?
Yes. You can resize an image for free without signing up. The tool accepts one file at a time, up to 100 MB.
Can I set both width and height?
Yes. To keep the image’s proportions, the new width-to-height ratio must match the source. A 3:2 photo has the same proportions as 1200 × 800 px; 1200 × 1200 px is square. If you need a square, crop or add space around the image in an editor before resizing.
Can I enter a percentage instead of pixels?
The fields take pixels. For a 25% version of a 4000 px-wide image, enter 1000 in Width and leave Height empty. The percentage refers to each side’s length, not a file-size target. Round calculated values to whole pixels.
Can I make an image larger?
You can request larger dimensions, but extra pixels do not recover missing detail. Enlarging a blurred photo or logo can make the softness more visible. Start with a larger original if available and inspect the downloaded file at its intended display size.
Will resizing make my file smaller than 100 KB?
The pixel fields cannot target a file size such as 100 KB. Meet any required dimensions, then check the downloaded file. If it is too large, compress it without going below the minimum dimensions and check that small text and detail remain clear.
Which image formats can I upload?
You can upload JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP. Check the downloaded file’s format. For a transparent logo, view it against a coloured background to check that it still has transparency. For an animated GIF, open the saved file and check playback.
Why will my image not resize?
Check that the file is a supported type and no larger than 100 MB. Enter a whole number from 1 to 50,000 px in at least one size field. The field maximum is an input limit, not a guaranteed processing size. If processing fails, try smaller dimensions, a fresh export or a smaller source that still meets your destination’s requirements.
