How to summarize your PDF

Select Short (key points) for a quick overview, Standard for more context or Detailed (by section) for a fuller outline. Then choose your summary language.

What to know before you start
A smaller file and a shorter document are different things.
Use readable text
Try copying a sentence from several pages into a text editor. Check the reading order, especially in columns and tables.
Scans need OCR first. Text inside images is not included, and extracted text may lose table or chart relationships.
Remove any password before choosing the PDF.
- File size
- PDF up to 100 MB. For a larger file, compress the PDF first.
- Text limit
- Up to 150,000 extracted characters or 2,000 pages containing text, whichever comes first. The file row shows the included page range if the document is cut off. The last listed page may be included only in part.
- Long PDFs
- Extract the relevant pages if you need a particular chapter covered. Compression reduces file size, not the amount of text.
Check the details that affect your next step
AI can omit information or introduce an unsupported conclusion. Compare important names, numbers, dates and caveats with the original PDF. Use the source for exact wording and decisions.

Which summary languages can I choose?
The menu offers 30 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German and Ukrainian. Choose the language before generating your summary.
Why is a topic missing from my summary?
Check the file row for a text cutoff and whether the missing section has selectable text. Try Detailed for a fuller overview of the included text; it does not increase the input limit.
Can I save the summary as a PDF?
The built-in download is a TXT file. The tool does not create a new PDF or preserve the original layout.
What happens to my PDF and its text?
The PDF is read in your browser. Its extracted text is sent for AI processing. The two-hour file-deletion statement in the footer does not establish how long AI request data is retained.
