How to enlarge an image

Add your image
Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF or BMP file up to 100 MB into the upload area, or paste it with Ctrl+V. Transparency isn’t preserved.

Choose how much bigger
Set Scale to 2× or 4×. Pick the Photo mode for photographs, or AI art for drawings and generated images. For a very large image, start with 2×.

Enlarge and check
Select Enlarge image and keep the tab open. Download the result and check it at the size you’ll actually use.
Bigger, not just stretched
A plain resize makes each pixel bigger, so the picture goes soft. Image Enlarger creates new pixels as it enlarges, so edges and fine detail stay sharp.

When a plain resize is enough
Your image already has enough pixels and you only need an exact width or height. Image Resizer sets the dimensions without adding detail.

Is Image Enlarger free?
Yes. It’s free to use and you don’t need an account. Convertok doesn’t add a watermark to the enlarged image.
Will the enlarged image look exactly like the original?
Not exactly. The AI predicts the new pixels, so faces, small text and fine patterns can change. Zoom in and compare the result with your original before you print or publish it.
Can it fix a blurry or pixelated photo?
It can make blocky edges look smoother, but it can’t restore detail the original doesn’t have. Heavy blur and very small text stay hard to read. Always start from the best-quality version you can find.
Which settings should I choose?
Use Photo for camera shots and scans, and AI art for drawings, cartoons and generated images. For portraits, try Enhance faces on and off and keep the version you prefer.
Which formats can I upload, and what do I get back?
Upload a JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIF, TIFF or BMP file up to 100 MB. A JPG comes back as a JPG. PNG, WebP, TIFF and BMP files come back as PNG.
How large can I print the enlarged image?
For a print you’ll see up close, divide the width and height in pixels by 300 to get inches. A 1920 × 1280 px image prints at about 6.4 × 4.3 in (16 × 11 cm). A poster seen from across a room can use fewer pixels per inch.
What if my image is too large to enlarge?
If the result would be too big, the tool stops and shows an 'image too large' message. Choose 2× instead of 4×, or start from a smaller copy of the image.
Does it keep a transparent background?
No. Transparent areas don’t stay transparent, so check the enlarged file before you place it on a coloured background. If you need a cut-out, remove the background after enlarging.
